Student Rights and Code of Conduct

Why does Guard Training need a Code of Student Conduct and Student Rights?

Most institutes and training platforms have codes of student conduct, which are explicitly designed to address conduct in the class environment. The Student Code of Conduct outlines students’ rights and responsibilities in Guard Training. Students must adhere to Human Rights Codes, including the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), and refrain from discriminatory activities.

Any student who initiates or engages in the following acts or behaviours will be promptly removed from training. This policy is in place to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all participants. Any form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination, whether it is based on race, gender, religion, or any other characteristic, will not be tolerated.

The following will not be tolerated.

  • Racism
  • Rude
  • Abusive
  • Insulting
  • Combative
  • Disorderly
  • Bullying
  • Stalking
  • Aggressiveness
  • Sexism
  • Sexual harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Rebelliousness
  • Argumentative
  • Regularly late
  • Interrupting

Additionally, any student who consistently disrupts the class or shows a lack of respect towards instructors or fellow trainees and the students will be subject to removal. All students must understand and adhere to these guidelines to maintain a positive and productive training experience for everyone involved.
